Are You An Impulse Buyer?
Your email inbox is overflowing…
Product launches are happening right and left…
Supplies are limited and time is running out…
Sound familiar?
Well I can relate to that as well having
several emails and being on multiple lists.
So what do you do – do you have a sense
of urgency to buy?
When you are quietly searching for the
right answers to be successful, it’s easy
to get caught up into the hype isn’t it?
Sometimes we make decisions without having
thought things through. Or maybe we believe
something will provide the right answer
this time and we don’t want to miss out.
Over the years I’ve learned a little trick
to help make better decisions especially
when there’s pressure to impulse buy. The
trick is to wait at least one day before
making the purchase.
Sometimes it helps to ask questions:
- Does this fit into my business goals?
- Am I ready to use this information?
- Is it something I will take action on?
After waiting, if it still makes business sense
to make the purchase, I’ll probably buy it.
But if I’m not as sure now as I was initially,
I’ll take some more time to think on it. If it
doesn’t fit into my plan then I am comfortable
in making the decision not to buy.
This even works when you’re out shopping and
you see something you feel you just gotta have.
Give it a day before you buy and you just might
end up saving yourself some money…
