Is A Website Necessary?

When getting started online a question that
comes up is whether or not you really need
a website.

There are differing views on this and I think
the answer will really depend on your strategy.

If you are in a hurry to get your feet wet
with your online business you can become an
affiliate for another company’s product. Then
you just promote your affiliate link which
will take any potential customers directly to
the company’s website.

By going this route, you can receive commissions
for any sales and you wouldn’t need your own
website.

Not having a website can save you time and money
because you won’t need a domain name or web hosting,
and you don’t need to learn about getting a
website online.

The downside of this strategy is you will not
be building your list of potential customers.
Many people do not buy with their first exposure
to a product and need to hear about it over
and over again before they are ready to purchase.

By sending the potential customer directly to
the company’s website and not capturing their
name and email address, you will lose the
capability to contact them.

If you’re planning to build a long term business
it would be helpful to at least have a simple
website to capture names and email addresses.
This will allow opportunities to contact your
list multiple times about similar products
that may be of benefit to them.

There are many ways to get started online. Keep
in mind it is possible to make income with or
without a website. Your strategy will help
determine what will work best for your business.

Procrastination

Yup, it’s there isn’t it? Following us around
and talking to us — “let’s do something else”
or “it can wait until tomorrow”…

Beautiful spring days can often lead to my
procrastination. I just love to be outdoors and
working in the yard. I’ll step outside for just
a moment to take in some fresh air and before
I know it, I’m weeding or raking or mowing the
lawn!

I’m sure you probably have your own good stories
too. And sometimes it may be OK to procrastinate,
but if it’s a daily routine we may need to make
some adjustments.

The one thing I’ve learned to do that helps me
is to tackle the most dreaded task first. I
focus on the great feeling I’ll have afterwards
and it motivates me to get it done sooner.
