Traffic Rush and Getting To The Goal!

Hey Everyone, how’s your week going?

It’s been really busy for me from shoveling snow, to working at my part-time job, and of course being engrossed in the business, which I really enjoy!

Target List for List Building Goal

I’ve been working on the goal to increase my list size by at least 3,000. I must admit it’s pretty exciting to be focused on this goal!

The highlighted list in the above chart is the target list we will be watching over the next several months. There is currently 15 subscribers on this list.

To increase list size I will need to drive tons of traffic to my squeeze page.

Oh yes, it’s quite a challenge!

And I’m fired up to research and check out as many methods as possible to get traffic to the squeeze page, time is ticking by TICK TOCK!

Then once I figure out which ones are working for me I’ll be able to let you know so you can give it a go and build your list even faster! 🙂

There are many ways to get traffic to a site, including free and paid, and I’ll be looking at several methods over the next weeks including solo ads and social media marketing.

The method I’m focusing on now is Giveaway Events.

I used to participate in these events with good success so I’m getting back to using this method.

I’ll let you know how things are going and keep you posted on any lessons learned!

If you’re not familiar with these events here’s a summary.

A Giveaway Event is a place (a website) where free gifts are made available for a period of time.

There are two ways to join – as a contributor or as a member.

Contributors join before the start date. They are the ones who place the free gifts into the event. They can join for free or take a paid upgrade offer which provides enhanced ways for their gifts to get noticed during the event.

Contributors benefit by placing a free gift because individuals wanting their gift will need to enter a name and email address to access the gift. This is how contributors build their subscriber lists.

Members join during the event period. Registration is free. They only need to enter their name and email address to get into the event.

Giveaway events are a win-win for both contributors and members. Contributors build their lists and members have access to hundreds of free products.

You may be wondering if there is a catch, and there really isn’t, other than to get into an event you must have an invitation.

If you are interested in receiving invites to Giveaway Events and are not currently a member on my list, just register at the top right of this page to sign up for my newsletter and you’ll get the invitations to the Internet marketing events I’m participating in.

So that’s about it for now. I’ve got some advertising to do for the current giveaways I’ve entered and more research to do on getting multiple sources of traffic to my squeeze page.

I’ll keep you updated on my progress…

Have a super week!

P.S. Have you had any experience with Giveaway Events? If so, I’d really like to hear about it,  just leave a comment below!

Hey Donna, really cool that you’re building your list using giveaways.

I believe it is one of the fastest ways to build a list (besides maybe solo ads and a few others) and also remember that many of those newcomers are going to be freebie seekers.

The important part here is to nurture them into getting to know you, provide very useful content and don’t start promoting right away to them.

I see you have a few different lists, are you broadcasting the same information to all of them or are you using specific campaigns for them, what’s your list building process?

      Hi Sergio,

It’s always good to hear from you! I enjoyed your latest post about productivity!

You make a great point about the newcomers preferences from giveaway events and I appreciate your advice on how to approach this audience. I agree it will take time to build the relationship.

For the list I’m working on now I have set up follow up messages to cover the first 14 days and provide bonuses and invites to visit my blog. The only promotion is for the offer that complements the free package they received when they signed up. I am not sending any broadcast messages to the new subscribers until after they have received the follow up messages for the first 14 days.

My other lists were created quite awhile ago, some over years, and most of those lists were generated from giveaway events and ad swaps. So generally the target audience is similar and for the most part I do send the same broadcast messages.

    Hey Donna,

yikes our friend from Mexico beat me to it – good old Sergio 😉

Well honestly Donna, I was going to say more or less the same things as Sergio, but since I’m here I’ll easily find something else to say. I’m a torrential talker once I get going – lol

I must say I really admire your tenacity. Four years + is a long time i anyone’s language and I’m really pleased to see you haven’t given up.

You’ve clearly got some lists going there. Could you not just search Clickbank for an offer to promote and sneak it in with your weekly emails or whatever. In my early days I did that on someone’s say so and it worked to a point. The only failing really was me in that I didn’t really understand where to take it from those beginnings.

Well, it’s a suggestion Donna. Either way, stick at it and I’m sure you’ll find your way in due course.

All the best from down under.

Hi Paul, thanks for stopping by to visit! There were some really frustrating periods of time for sure. Thanks for your positive words! 🙂

I do have a few lists, they are older and the responsiveness is low. I wasn’t clear either when I first started on how best to use email marketing. It’s still a learning process and I’ve found adding value and building relationships is the key. As I start this new list that will be my focus.

I look forward to connecting with you more on Twitter. Thanks again Paul and have a super week!

    Hi Donna,
You’re really made some progress with regards to achieving your goals but as Sergio said, please concentrate on providing great quality contents each and every time you write.

No, I’ve never participated in a giveaway event. Anyways, I’m subscribing.
