What's Your Niche?
Journey To Online Success Weekly Bits Newsletter (WBN)
Topics for this week:
– What’s Your Niche?
– Focus Thoughts & Forward Momentum

What’s Your Niche?
You’ve made a decision to start an
online business.
You’ve setup your home office with a
computer and Internet access and you’ve
purchased a few office supplies.
You’ve established some time periods to
conduct your business and now you’re
ready to rock and roll.
So what’s next?
Well, the next thing to consider is what
you will be doing – in other words -
what will your niche be?
I’ve found the best way of starting
an online business is to do it in
an area, or niche, that you are
knowledgeable in or passionate about.
There are a couple of reasons to get
started this way.
First, if you focus on something you really
enjoy or would like to do, it keeps your
interest much longer than something you
don’t care about.
Secondly, when it comes time to interact
with your customers you will be able
to communicate easily because you know
the subject and have an interest or passion
about it.
To find a niche that may be right for you,
think about your passions and interests
and write them down. Then take a look
at your skills and strengths. Try to
find a combination of these that would
be a good fit for your business area
or niche.
For example, if you are passionate about
playing tennis and you are good at writing
you may want to consider a niche where
you can write articles about tennis. Or
if you are interested in being a trainer
and are computer literate you may be able
to offer computer training services
online.
A side benefit of selecting a niche around
your passions and strengths is you will
totally enjoy your online work!
You may have heard the following quote
by Robert G. Allen:
“Pursuing your passion is fulfilling
and leads to financial freedom”.
Take some time to consider which business
area or niche may be right for your own
business.
Once you’ve made your decision on your niche
you’ll be off to a great start towards getting
your business online.
