Time Management Is Essential For Home Business

Time can be a funny thing for home
business ownership. It’s easy to think
we will have more time because we don’t
have a long commute to work or that we
have so much flexibility we’ll be able to
get more done.

And those are great advantages to working
from home. The disadvantages come into
play when it becomes too comfortable to
put things off, knowing we’ll get to them
later – because we THINK we have more time.

In reality though the time we have each
day is the same amount of time each day-
it’s really how we manage our time that
makes all the difference.

I think just being aware of this fact is
key for managing your time. Here are a
few things to keep in mind to help manage
your time and home business activities.

Setting specific and measureable goals
can help you stay on track. You are your
own boss and as such you are accountable
to yourself in what gets done each day.

Having set business hours can help establish
focused time for business activities. It
also provides a framework to help family and
friends understand when you are and are not
available for other activities.

Taking a serious approach to home business
success sets the standard for work activities
and how they are accomplished. How you think
of your own business will be a reflection in
how others perceive your business.

Just being aware of how precious time really
is can guide us towards home business success.
And remember that each small step taken every
day can get us closer to our goals.

There are many thoughts on success and
what it really takes to be successful.

Maybe you’ve heard it takes mindset,
focus, discipline, persistence, problem

And while these are all very important, I
think it’s just as important to WANT to succeed –
in other words, to accept responsibility for
our own success and to choose success.
Les Brown says it best:

“Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you
who will get you where you want to go, no one else.”

I think it can be difficult at times to remember that
we do have control over our own life and our success,
especially in times such as these with the current
ecomonic issues worldwide.

3 Tips for Online Home Business Success

People enter into their online home business
with a dream to succeed, but the majority
fail to achieve the success they deserve.

Have you ever wondered why?

The main reason is that they simply take
things as they come and are not keen on putting
in the extra effort.

You will find a lot of marketing plans that
claim success in a short time. But the reality
is there is no short cut to achieve success.
Like any other job you have to be dedicated
and give all your spare time to create a
successful online home business.

To make things a little easier for you to
achieve success, I have listed 3 tips below.  

A big reason for many online home business
failures it there is no set time or schedule
to do the work activities. If you want your
business to flourish you must set time for
getting your business work done. A successful
online home business requires a lot of hard
work and motivation. You will need to put in
the extra hours of work.    

Every business begins with a definite plan.
A plan is a complete sketch of how will you
approach the business, your long term goals
and immediate goals. The plan should also
include an outline about the products. It is
important to have good knowledge about your
products because you will be marketing them.

Be passionate about the work you are doing.
Find a business area that you are excited about
and that interests you. Remember, building an
online home business requires a lot of work.
But if you see it as ‘only work’, the business
will suffer and you may lose interest and work
less. But if you are passionate about your
business, your passion will drive you stronger
towards your goal.

remember back that far in January and
February, but just go with it for now…

of successes, smile and congratulate yourself!

You’ve done a great job and should be proud

Dreams and Life

Do you have dreams?

I’m not referring to what you have during
sleep, I’m talking about dreams for your life…

…Dreams of success, abundance, freedom,
financial independence…

Well, do you have them?

When thinking back to times as a child
I can recall having lots of dreams.
How about you?

Children have such wonderful and inspiring
thoughts and ideas on what they will do
when they grow up. Big ideas such as
being a rock climber, an astronaut, a
world traveler, a doctor, an artist, a
painter, spiderman, a firefighter, a musician,
a dancer, engineer or scientist, or to be
just like their parents…

Dreams seem to come so easily for them.

How about for us as adults? Not so easy is it.

I think we have a tendency as adults to get too
caught up into our daily tasks and we forget to
think about our dreams and what makes us happy.

In a finance related class I teach there is
a ‘dream exercise’ where you list down on paper
answers to the question:

If you had all the time in the world and all
the money you ever needed – what would you do?

It’s really a lot of fun, taking time to dream
about what we’d be doing if the barriers of
time and money were removed from our lives.

When we were children we probably didn’t give
much thought to time or money constraints.

So why not give yourself a great gift during
this wonderful holiday season and take some
time to dream about your life…

“If you had all the time in the world and all
the money you ever needed – what would you do?”

Allow yourself the pleasure of having dreams.
Be a kid again if only for a few moments and
delight in your life dreams. You just might
be surprised where it takes you…

you have to have those dreams.”

Staying Motivated Through Hectic Times

The holidays are upon us and there’s so
much to do! Planning, preparing, shopping,
visiting and having fun with family
and friends…

It’s a great time of the year to be sure!

So how do you stay motivated about your
business with so much activity going on?

Here’s a few tips that I’ve found helpful
in my business…

Reflect on your reasons for having your
business. Why are you doing this? What
is it you want to create or achieve?
I find great motivation just by reflecting
on why I have my own business.

Identify a few goals you believe will
have the greatest benefit to move your
business forward. Selecting only a few
goals helps keep things realistic.

Schedule all your activities including time
for your business goals as well as your
holiday fun. I find a written schedule with
combined activities helps bring balance
especially during hectic times.

Enjoy the holidays, stay motivated with
your business and remember to have lots
of fun!

Over half the year has now gone by and here it is
September already.

And for many maybe it’s that time of year when you
have a little break in between the summer fun and
getting ready for the holiday fun

So why not take the opportunity now to really get
motivated and have a little business fun!

Here are a few tips…

Tip 1 – Maintain A Positive Attitude.

We’re responsible for our own actions and attitudes,
and changing them when appropriate. When you’re
around people and situations that are uplifting and
positive, don’t you feel that way too? Likewise, when
you’re around negative situations it tends to bring you
down. Take a positive approach to your daily
activities, focus on what’s good in your life, and smile
at yourself and others – even if you’re stuck in traffic!

Tip 2 – Put Your Personal Troubles In A Bubble And Let Them Float Away.

Everyone has problems, but focusing on them every
minute of every day only zaps away your energy and
your motivation. Letting them float away if only for a
short time will actually be good for you because you’ll
get a mental break. During this break you can turn
your entire attention and energy on starting and
growing your online business.

Tip 3 – Create Positive Affirmations.

If you see or hear something often enough, you will start
to believe it. Come up with statements that help you feel
good about yourself or ones that help your productivity,
such as “I’m an important and valuable person” or
“I know I’ll make good use of my time today”. After
you’ve written them down, read them aloud to yourself
at least once each day to help reinforce positive actions.

Remember, it only takes a little concentrated effort
on our part to keep motivated and productive, which
helps lead us to success in our life and our business.

Who is Really Responsible For Success?

This may really surprise you — but
WE are really responsible for our own
success in life and business.

I know, you already knew this and didn’t
really need the answer. I do believe though
there are times when it’s important to
remind ourselves of this.

Just this week I got caught up in a situation
where I felt I didn’t have any control over
the outcome. But then I realized I did have
choices on how to resolve the situation that
made my life less stressful.

We’ve probably all been there a time or two.
Here are a few quotes on taking responsibility
that I’ve found to be inspiring and good
reminders that we really are responsible for
our own success…

If Only . . .

If only I knew how to do this…

If only I didn’t have to do that…

If only I had more time…

Ever had an ‘if only’ moment or two while working on
your business?

I sure have…and still do. In fact, I’ve probably spent
more time going through the ‘if onlys’ in my head
than it would have taken to complete an activity!

The usual times for this thinking pattern to hit me is
when I come across a project or activity I find difficult
or don’t know how to do.

It’s so easy to come up with reasons why I’m stuck
or can’t get it done. And before I know it, my time has
slipped away and the task is still not finished.

Does this ever happen to you? Do you get stuck in
‘if only’ situations?

So how can you overcome these moments and get
the job done?

Well, for me, I think what helps is to first be aware
of what’s going on. Realize the ‘if only’ thoughts are
taking over and they need to be stopped.

Then I ask myself questions such as…
What can I do to get past this?
Where can I find out more information? 
Is there someone I can call for help?

I’ve found it helps to focus more on what can be done
to get it behind me than on making excuses for why
I don’t want to do it or can’t do it.

I think Henry Ford said it best:
“Don’t find fault. Find a remedy.”

I must admit I still struggle with this at times. But I’ve
learned the more quickly you get past these situations
…the more confidence you build
…the more work you get accomplished
…and the less times the ‘if only’ thoughts visit.
